Blinkist: A Review of the Best Summary App for Busy Readers
Blinkist: A Review of the Best Summary App for Busy Readers
Blinkist is a popular book summary service that offers condensed versions of non-fiction books. Many users find it a useful tool for quickly gaining knowledge and insights. However, whether or not you use Blinkist will depend on your individual preferences and needs.
Personal Experiences with Blinkist
I, personally, don't have a Blinkist account and haven't used their system and app. I prefer to read the whole book and comprehend it from start to finish. Blinkist lets you read the key lessons from over 3,000 non-fiction books in about 15 minutes or less. This concise format can be beneficial for those who are too busy to delve into lengthy books.
Opinions on Blinkist
Others have varying opinions on Blinkist. Some find it a valuable tool for skimming through books and taking in key points efficiently. It is particularly useful for individuals who don't enjoy reading extensively but are still looking to improve. For this reason, Blinkist can be seen as a way to alleviate the frustration of reading while still learning and growing. However, for avid readers, Blinkist may feel insufficient. You may feel like you didn't read the entire book and instead, received snippets of information.
For readers who have different backgrounds, histories, life events, families, and traumas, the selection and attachment to certain sections of a book can vary. Blinkist can provide a broader overview of a book, allowing you to decide whether you want to read it in full or not.
The User Experience with Blinkist
Blinkist offers concise and quality book summaries that can help busy individuals easily digest key information from a wide range of non-fiction books. For students and professionals who want to read a lot of books and gain comprehensive knowledge, Blinkist is the perfect app. Since 2021, I have been a user of Blinkist and have found it to be the best reading app available. It is especially beneficial for students who need to read extensively and gain worldly knowledge.
Each day, Blinkist provides a free book summary. I have been reading these summaries for some time and have read summaries of around 140 books on various topics, including psychology, corporate culture, health and nutrition, relationships, and even American politics. Each day, you can read the free summary in about 8-9 blinks, which is their own page, and get a proper summary of the book. You can also listen to an audio summary of the book.
User-Friendly Features of Blinkist
Beyond just the summaries, Blinkist offers additional features. The introduction of the book summary includes information about the author and a few questions that will be answered in the blinks. The summary at the end suggests actionable advice that you can follow easily to start implementing the steps described in the book for a healthier life. Moreover, they suggest a related book in the end, which you can try out if you're interested in the same topic.
The interface of the app is user-friendly and easily understandable. Here are some screenshots to help you understand the interface better:
