How to Create a WhatsApp Group with Restricted Posting Permissions
Do you need a WhatsApp group where only one person can post messages while others can read and interact? With WhatsApp's features, setting up such a group is easy and straightforward. Follow the steps below to create a WhatsApp group with only one person allowed to post messages.
Create the Group
Open WhatsApp and go to the Chats tab. Tap on the New Chat icon usually a chat bubble. Select New Group. Add the person you want in the group and tap Next. Give your group a name and tap Create.Set Group Settings
Once the group is created, you can set the posting permissions.
Open the group chat. Tap on the group name at the top to open the group info. Scroll down and select Group Settings. Tap on Send Messages. Select Only Admins. This setting allows only group admins to send messages, effectively making you the only person who can post.Add Admins (Optional)
If you want to have other admins but still control who can post, you can add them by going back to Group Info, selecting the member, and choosing Make Admin.Communicate Group Rules: It’s a good idea to inform group members that only admins will be posting in the group to manage expectations.
Now only you or any other admins you designate can send messages in the group while others can view the messages and interact through replies or reactions.
Alternative Method: Create a WhatsApp Broadcast List
If you want a faster way to send messages to many users, you can create a WhatsApp Broadcast List. This will allow you to send messages to all WhatsApp contacts in a single click. Everyone will receive your message in their inbox directly, similar to sending a bulk message.
Manage Group Permissions Globally
This feature is already available and you can enable it by opening Group Info by tapping on the name of the group at the top of the conversation. Then tap Group Settings > Send Messages > select Only Admins. This setting is now being rolled out to all users around the world on the latest supported versions of WhatsApp.
Remember, if it's not your group, ask the person who created it to manage the settings. Once the group is ready, go to the group and select the "Only admins allowed to post" option. Make sure to not add anyone else as an admin if you are the only one allowed to post.
Conclusion: Creating a WhatsApp group with restricted posting permissions is a simple process. Follow the steps outlined above to ensure that only specific members of the group can post messages, while maintaining synchronization with others who can view and interact with the content.
