Best Mobile Network Providers in Pune, Maharashtra: A Review

Choosing the best mobile network provider in Pune, Maharashtra, can be a daunting task. Factors such as coverage, speed, and customer service vary, so it's important to consider local reviews and personal experiences. This article provides a comprehensive review of the top mobile network providers in Pune, including Airtel, Jio, Vodafone-Idea, and BSNL, based on user feedback and personal testing.

Top Mobile Network Providers in Pune

Some of the top mobile network providers recognized for their performance in Pune include:

Airtel: Known for its strong 4G coverage and high-speed internet services. Jio: Offers extensive coverage and competitive pricing, making it popular among users. Vodafone-Idea Vi: Provides a good balance of coverage and data plans, although users have reported mixed experiences regarding speed in some areas. BSNL: While it has a decent network, its 4G availability may not be as widespread as private operators.

Personal Testing and Experiences

I have tested the following networks almost all over Pune:

AIRTEL

Here are my findings with Airtel:

Internet: The ping or MS is pretty good, but it struggles with consistency. It constantly switches to 3G up to 10 times a day. The internet speed is the worst among all the networks; it sometimes reaches 4MBps but mostly for only 2 seconds. The average speed is 10MBps, and internet speed drops to around 285 ms from around 9-11 PM every day. Calls: The worst due to downtime, making it difficult to make calls. In some areas, it can even result in the other person not being able to hear you.

VODAFONE-IDEA

Based on the following points, Vodafone-Idea lies second from the last in terms of performance:

Everything is similar to Airtel, except for the fact that it doesn't have any downtime. Speed is slightly slower but has plans like super hour, offering unlimited 4G for an hour.

IDEAL

Here's how Idea compares:

The ping and MS are good, around 26 MS, and it has no downtime. If you want to play games like Mobile Legends and PUBG, I prefer Idea over Jio. It has okay 4G coverage with a speed around 40 MBps in full range, which goes down to 20-10-5 MBps per range. Calls are okay with no significant issues.

Issues: It is a bit costlier than Jio and its customer care services are worse than Airtel's.

JIO

Here are the findings with Jio:

MS is around 30-90, mostly around 60. It is really cheap and has the best 4G coverage. Calls are pretty good with a lot of data. The highest average speed among all makes it the best choice for most downloads and calls. PUBG is playable at 60 MS, but other 5v5 moba games might give some trouble. CUSTOMER CARE: While I've been using Jio for 2 years, I've only called their customer care once. They had a downtime issue when I purchased the SIM card, but they were pretty good and fast, and I don't have much experience with their current customer care services.

Conclusion

Based on my experiences, I prefer Idea if you play games and have limited downloads. Jio is the best choice if you download movies and make calls frequently, as it offers the best average speed and extensive 4G coverage at a reasonable cost with good customer service.
